Join us online this Earth Day (April 22) as Iceland MD Richard Walker – author of The Green Grocer – is joined by naturalist and broadcaster Chris Packham to discuss the role corporate activism should play in the fight against climate change.

About the Speakers

Richard Walker is the managing director of Iceland Foods, a company that has led the way with ethical and eco business practices in the UK since the 1980s, including replacing CFC gases, recycling, and launching eco-friendly “greenfreeze” technology. Richard is at the forefront of the sustainable business conversation, being a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader, a member of the DEFRA Council for Sustainable Business, a Sustainable Business Ambassador for the HRH the Prince of Wales, and a trustee of several leading environmental charities. He is a panellist on BBC’s Question Time and star of Channel 5’s recent TV series Inside Iceland. 

Chris Packham is one of the UK’s most popular TV naturalists and an award-winning conservationist, photographer and author. He has always been fascinated by wildlife and, as a young scientist at the zoology department of Southampton University, he studied kestrels, shrews, and badgers. His TV career began with the award-winning Really Wild Show. His more recent work includes the critically acclaimed global series Secrets of our Living Planet, and he is co-presenter of Springwatch, Autumnwatch, and Winterwatch. His 2017 memoir Fingers in the Sparkle Jar was a No.1 Sunday Times bestseller. His most recent book, written with Megan McCubbin, Back to Nature: How to Love Life – and Save It published in November 2020.
